Welcome to my personal website. I am a Licensed Professional Engineer of Alberta, Canada. My areas of specialization include Software Engineering and Computer Vision. I am also experienced with Machine Learning and Genetic Optimization, particularly related to their applications in Computer Vision. Additionally, my experience includes the design and development of various electronic circuits, ranging from small-signal transistor circuits and power electronic circuits to microprocessor and FPGA based systems.
Currently, I work as the Team Lead of the Research Computing and Development unit of the Faculty of Arts, University of Alberta. I am also associated with the Centre for Project Management Excellence at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary. My research work with this centre focuses on the design and development of industry-oriented computer vision and information management systems, part of which is featured in the Alberta Construction Magazine.
In the past I have worked as a Lecturer at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka, a Teaching Assistant at the University of Western Ontario, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta, and an Administration Senior Analyst at the Arts Resource Centre, University of Alberta. I have taught software engineering, programming, operating systems, analogue electronics, digital electronics, power electronics, and microprocessor-based systems. I have also been mentoring both undergraduate and graduate students.
